About Lincoln Amphitheatre

Many of the stories you’ve heard about young Abraham Lincoln happened here in Indiana ... working to clear the forest, studying by firelight, mourning the tragic death of his mother and sister.

From the time he was seven until he was 21, Abraham lived and learned in what is now Lincoln City, Indiana.

Lincoln’s remarkable character, forged on the Indiana frontier, is the heart of a moving play in the magnificent 1,500-seat, roofed Lincoln Amphitheatre. Hear President Lincoln’s own words as he struggles to preserve the Union. Your heart will ache as the slave choir’s pure voice soars to the heavens.
