About Meyer Planetarium

The planetarium, built in 1964 on the campus of Birmingham Southern College, receives more than 15,000 visitors young and old, each year.  The 87 seat circular theater for artificial star gazing is a terrific place to ponder the wonders and mysteries of the universe.  This, the first planetarium built in Alabama,  was a gift to Birmingham Southern College from the Robert R. Meyer foundation.
