About Animal Farm Adventure Park

Animal Farm Adventure Park was established in 1984 when an area of land was utilised from a larger farm to start a Rare Breeds Farm. Set on 23 acres on the Somerset levels behind Brean Sands and one mile from Berrow, the Farm nestles between the Mendips on one side, Brent Knoll on the other and the beach to the west.

Originally the Farm opened between Easter and October but now opens all year, servicing the needs of a growing local population and the busy holiday areas of Brean and Burnham on Sea.

Over the years various facilities have been added including a shop and a café. The key attraction apart from the animals has to be the all-weather play barn which attracts many local families and holiday makers, giving children the opportunity to play whatever the weather.

The current owners, Andrew and Frances Prewett (see below), with their family recognise the need to finely balance the rural aspect of Animal Farm with the leisure requirements as well as the need to entertain and inform. The continued development of Animal Farm, introducing additional facilities, a wider variety of animals and the ability to enjoy the surrounding views and countryside, make Animal Farm Adventure Park an all-day family experience.

Many families return year after year. Some are now second generation visitors and have become "Friends of the Farm," by taking out a yearly membership. This allows them to return again and again to enjoy the all-weather facilities at Animal Farm.
